Meng's Participates in Full Contact Cage Fight Feb. 21st
Katy TX Press Release
Meng’s Martial Arts of Houston located on Fry Rd. had one of their students Daniel Duran competed in his first amateur mixed martial arts cage fight. The event took place in Beaumont, Texas in the Beaumont Civic Center. The event was hosted by Texas rage in the cage. Mixed martial art competitions are unique in the martial art competitive arena because you have to have kicking striking throwing and grappling skills which Meng’s martial arts teaches all four skill sets within their nationally known kung fu system and association. Daniel Duran won the fight in the third round after 24 seconds after the ref called a TKO based on Daniel being in a superior position while the opponent could not properly defend himself so the ref called the competition for the safety of the fighter.

Mixed martial arts even though it is closer to expressing reality than most martial arts competitions do have rules that make sure the fighters are safe “we are all very proud of Daniel in his training efforts and his success in winning and how he represented Meng’s martial arts on a physical level, etiquette level, and knowledge level” Said Sifu Brad Ryan, owner of Meng’s in Katy.

Meng’s martial arts is known nationally for their high quality Kung fu which is a complete system that addresses all four ranges of self defense and can easily compete in the mixed martial arts circuits.
